🏔️ Friday, May 29th, is Mount Everest Day!

On this day in 1953, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay became the first climbers confirmed to reach the summit of Mount Everest, proving that big goals, hard work, and determination can take you to the top!

As we approach Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. 🇺🇸

In observance of the holiday weekend, there will be NO Bingo this Friday, May 22, at the Lake Jackson Volunteer Fire Department. Please help spread the word to your friends and fellow players.

Friday, May 15th, marks the 21st Annual Endangered Species Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the importance of protecting threatened and endangered plants, animals, and their habitats.

It’s also a celebration of some incredible conservation success stories:

🐋 Humpback Whales have rebounded by 87%, now reaching more than 135,000 worldwide.

🐊 The American Alligator, once nearly extinct in the 1950s, now thrives with a population exceeding 5 million.

🦅 The Bald Eagle, our nation’s symbol, has soared from fewer than 500 breeding pairs to more than 14,000.

You know the feeling… you finish the laundry, fold everything up, and somehow ONE sock has mysteriously vanished.

We’re convinced they disappear into a parallel universe somewhere between the washer and dryer!

🚑🔥 Big congratulations to Lake Jackson Volunteer Fire Department’s newest EMT, Scott Stebbins!

Since being voted into membership, EMT Stebbins has truly hit the ground running, quickly becoming one of our fastest members to complete orientation, station red-hat requirements, Emergency Vehicle Operations (ambulance driver), and EMT certification.

EMT Stebbins dedication, work ethic, and commitment to serving the community are already making an impact. We’re proud to have him on the team and excited to see where this journey takes him next!
