What can we say about the Cleanup Event last night other than THANK YOU!

To all the businesses and organizations:
Heimbruch Septic Service LLC
Mid State Tree Service LLC-Kiln Dried Wood For Sale
Mid-Western Rodeo
Manawa Lions Club
Joshua Korotka-Thrivent
Manawa Rural Fire Department
Manawa Rural Ambulance
Manawa Police Department

And we can't forget to mention the over 70 volunteers, that's right.....70 VOLUNTEERS that came out last night and helped get more things cleaned out than what was thought it could be in that 4 hour timeframe.

From clearing all the grass away from all the fences, getting the softball bathrooms sprayed out, getting the downed trees and stumps removed, and getting all the debris from inside the ball courts and the pavilion, 8 dumptruck loads were hauled away last night alone.

It was so unbelievable the amount of things that got done last night that there is a strong possibility the baseball team may have a chance to play a few homes games before the end of the season...as long as the fields keep drying out. They are still very wet in some areas but the City Crew did work to remove some more build-up from the field today and flatten it out to hopefully dry to be able to play.

Public Works is in discussion with the Athletic Director to try and get some games here this year yet....so keep your fingers crossed that the weather keeps going with the drying trend!

Again...Thank you everyone for your hard work last night! !

Lindsay Park Cleanup Update for Tomorrow Night!

Park wherever you legally can and walk into the main entrance of the park just south of the bridge, please stay to the far left as close as you can to the fence when entering and watch for equipment operations going on.

The front area by the Wastewater Treatment Plant will be used for Truck/Equipment Staging, not for regular vehicle parking. Sign-in table will be at the entrance of the park by the swinging gates, forms will be signed there before going into the park.

Josh Korotka from Thrivent Financial has graciously offered to help provide some more cleanup tools that may be needed for this work...Thank you Josh!

Heimbruch Septic Service LLC delivered the bathrooms today...Thank You Again!

Remember that the Manawa Lions and Manawa Rodeo will be providing food for the volunteers tomorrow night, and drinking water that was leftover from the flood event by multiple donors will be provided.

Spiegelberg Implement has arranged for equipment to be used for this as well as Mid State Tree Service LLC-Kiln Dried Wood For Sale...Thank You both!

Midwest Athletic Fields was on site today and brought the infield back to pre-flood conditions! Thank you for your quick response!

There is a lot to clean up in the park but with enough help, a lot can be accomplished in this short amount of time!

We hope to provide the safest environment tomorrow night as we can, so if work is stop because of safety concerns, please respect any decision that is made. Remember that only tracked equipment will be used in the park with the exception of the City Backhoe and Dump Trucks.

Thank you for your attention to this post and we hope to work with you all tomorrow night!
