When it comes to merging for lane closures, there are some misconceptions out there. The truth is this - using all lanes until the merge point, and then zipper merging, will help us all get where we’re going more efficiently. The zipper merge can reduce traffic backups by as much as 40%.

Thank you to the Manawa Masonic Lodge No. 82 for recently donating an AED (automated external defibrillator) and two fire suppression units to the police department. The fire suppression units can be thrown into a structure. They disperse powdered aerosol that expands throughout the affected space, suppressing flames and rapidly reducing temperatures without depleting oxygen.

Thank you, Manawa! We had a great time at this year's event. Our game went over really well.

I would also like to thank the Waupaca County Sheriff's Office for doing an amazing job with the drone presentation. What a valuable tool to assist with locating missing or wanted people, finding evidence, gather intelligence and communicate with someone without placing a person in danger.

Please turn your headlights on! About half of the vehicles on the road, new and old, do not have their taillights turn on during the day with daytime headlights.

This Friday we are hoping for good weather for the car show.

Please be aware of the street closure on S. Bridge St. between the triangle, 500 block, and Wells St. If you live within the closure area, please have your vehicles out by 4:00pm, as the roads will be closed off. The event is from 5:00pm-9:00pm.
