We are about a month out from putting in our large Scrip orders at several schools!
We opt to use schools that are able to help raise some funds themselves through whatever school challenge they come up with - and then we double, triple, or even quadruple your efforts!!
Let us know if your school (that sells Scrip) would like to do a challenge - helping their local officers AND neighbors in need!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the Waupaca Police Department is proud to support an important community event focused on raising awareness, honoring survivors, and remembering victims.

Please join us for a Silent Walk:

This event will bring our community together to:

💜 Raise awareness and education about domestic abuse
💜 Honor victims and survivors
💜 Recognize the 2025 Wisconsin Domestic Violence Homicide Victims
💜 Hear a survivor share their story
💜 Stand together in support of those affected by domestic violence

Domestic violence affects individuals, families, and communities. By coming together, we can help break the silence, increase awareness, and remind survivors that they are not alone.

The Waupaca Police Department encourages our community to join us for this meaningful evening of remembrance, awareness, education, and support.

The Manawa Chamber of Commerce did a great job with Fall Fest! It was nice to see previous and new vendors with an array of products.

We had fun talking to so many people and handing out stickers to the kiddos. See you all next year!

Yesterday, we had a family friend, Kolja Ullrich, from Germany ride along. We also took a trip to the Waupaca County Sheriff's Office to tour their facility.

He is visiting the area prior to starting his schooling/training to become a German Police Officer. His training begins Oct 1. Good luck, Kolja!

Annual reminder: We would like all students to have fun during this year's Homecoming week. But please follow the three simple rules.

1. Don't go onto anyone's property without their consent (you know them and your friend is likely going to go onto yours)
2. Do not use anything that could cause damage to someone's property.
3. Don't leave rolls on people's yard looking like the photo. I hear alumni complaining every year about how the skill of TP'ing just isn't the same.

We will take enforcement action if intentional damage is done. If something happens by accident, stop and talk to the homeowner. We've had that occur in the past and it the situation was resolved without us getting involved.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our effort to assist families with the Police Lights Of Christmas gift card fundraiser! We met some new and familiar faces.

A special shout out to Linda Mae's for hosting us and donating money back to the cause. They are one of many great community partners.

My most memorable interaction was one of the last groups. They were in town for a sporting event. Two siblings, a guardian, and another family member. The adults told us of things that have happened in their lives that have left the kids unsure about how to interact with law enforcement. We had another young guest draw the names for all of the prizes, and the siblings won some fun stuff. We spent time talking to them, they colored, grabbed some police stickers, and the family asked for a photo.

That's what makes this job worth it. You never know when and where these opportunities will present themselves, but they are awesome.
