This Memorial Day, the Manchester Police Department honors and remembers the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten. As we gather with family and friends this holiday weekend, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and remember those who gave everything for our freedom.

We also remind our community to celebrate safely and responsibly.

From all of us at the Manchester Police Department, thank you to our fallen heroes and the families who continue to carry their legacy.

Fraudulent callers are impersonating CVS Caremark and CVS Pharmacy to steal personal information, such as Medicare numbers, Social Security numbers, or credit card details, often claiming to verify prescriptions, offer free shipping, or update profiles. These scammers use spoofed phone numbers to appear legitimate. If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately and call the official number on the back of your prescription card (1-800-552-8159) to verify.

Signs of a CVS Caremark Scam Call:

Requests for Sensitive Info: Callers ask for Social Security numbers, Medicare information, or financial details to "verify a prescription" or "update records".

Too Good to Be True Offers: Scammers may offer free shipping or ask for payment for fake, "overdue" prescriptions.
Intimidation Tactics: Scammers might mention a lawsuit involving your Social Security number or that you are over-due for a medication refill.

Irregular Caller ID: While IDs can be spoofed, sometimes they appear as "Unknown," "CVSKmart," or just a generic "pharmacy"

This week, we’re recognizing the amazing dispatchers at the Manchester Communications Center, the true first first-responders.

Our dispatchers are the ones answering the calls and getting help for Manchester Police & Fire Departments, Northshire EMS, Arlington Fire, and East Dorset Fire.

Behind every call is a calm voice asking the right questions, figuring out what’s going on, and getting the right people on the way. From helping someone find a lost dog to handling life-threatening emergencies, they truly do it all.

They are here 24/7, 365 days a year, missing holidays, weekends, and time with family to keep the Northshire community safe.

We’re lucky to have such a strong, experienced group right here in Manchester.
Join us this week in thanking these incredible people, the voice in the dark, for everything they do.

Thank you, Skyler, Ben, Lena, Amanda, Betsy, and Tom!
