This month we'll be making bowl cozies.... Learn this simple pattern and make your own to take home.
What's a bowl cozy, you ask? Ever heated up a bowl in the microwave and found it was too hot to take out? These practical items act as an outer layer to your bowl allowing you to hold it without a burn. And they work for cold, too!
Supplies will be provided but if you prefer to choose the pattern/color, you may bring your own. We will be using a sewing machine to make these.
You'll need 1/2 yard of 100% cotton.
This program is for adults (and teens 16+).
Seating is limited and registration is required so that we may provide sufficient materials.

Presidential Series with Doodler Heather Rogers: James Monroe (Hybrid)
Friday, May 8 at 10:30—11:30 AM
This is the last week you will be able to watch this presentation from home or at the library. Register at https://manchesterpl.assabetinteractive.com/calendar/presidential-series-with-doodler-heather-rogers-george-washington-hybrid-5/ for the Zoom link or come to the library to watch in person - no registration necessary.
Welcome to our yearlong series in which “America’s Preeminent Presidential Doodler”, Heather Rogers, shares facts, factoids, and fun illustrations about the presidents of these United States. This month we move to another James - James Monroe: James Monroe and James Madison are not interchangeable! It’s true. He wore knee breeches and stockings long after they were cool; the only foreign capital named for a U.S. president was named for him. Like two of his predecessors, he died on July 4. Don't you want to know more? In 2026, journey through Heather's sketchbooks as she shares some of her favorite tidbits, doodles, observations, and resurrection stories about the first 12 presidents.
This program will be recorded and all registrants will receive the recording.
This program is sponsored by the Manchester By The Sea Friends of the Library and is in collaboration with a multitude of MA and NH libraries.
