What a gorgeous evening as we celebrated our 50th anniversary and thanked our wonderful Friends of Manchester Trees members and donors at our 2023 Summer Soiree.

The festivities were held at โ€˜Eaglis', the beautiful home of Elizabeth and Stuart Moore, who are special supporters and advocates of the environment. After an update on the organization by Jody Morse our new president, we were treated to a special presentation by Samantha Richardson, a horticulturist and data scientist at the historic Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.

We thank all who contributed and attended, and look forward to many more such gatherings and celebrations! Do spread the word to all your friends about our mission and all the good work we as a community - together - are able to accomplish in protecting and advancing our green canopy.

Manchester celebrated Arbor Day on Friday, April 28, 2023 with the fifth graders at Memorial School. Select Board Chair, Becky Jaques, read the official Arbor Day Proclamation. Manchester Tree Warden, Tom Henderson, explained to the students how to properly plant a tree. Then everyone pitched in with shovels. Each year, the Friends of Manchester Trees sponsors the event, which is just one requirement for the town being awarded the distinction of Tree City USA.
