Our mission is to provide quality pre-hospital care and transportation to persons of sudden illness or injury within the 469 square miles of Clay County, Kentucky.

Operated from one base located in the heart of Manchester: we operate two to four apparatus daily, providing both advance life support and basic life support.

Not only do we provide emergency care, but we also provide unscheduled non-emergency interfacility transport services for our rural hospital and medically necessary scheduled non-emergency stretcher transport for facilities and residents in Clay County.

Wednesday’s Clay Co. EMS "Heroes Work Here"!

While lots of people and places think of Wednesdays as “hump day”…EMS first responders know it just another day to make a difference in someone’s life!!

EMS doesn’t slow down just because it’s the middle of the week. Every day trucks and equipment must be checked and/or rotated and restocked after every call.

Can you guess how many different items are carried on a truck???

Continuing with our recognition of : today we focus on training.

Expanding on the theme "Improving Outcomes, Together": continuing education and other training is an important part of Emergency Medical Service.

Did you know...Kentucky EMTs, Advance EMTs, Paramedics are required to have 20-30 hours minimum continuing education classes every two years.

Clay Co. EMS strives to keep up to date with the latest advances in the medical field by hosting and participating in class and skills verification on a regular basis.

Wednesday is caring for kids! Clay Co. EMS and its employees care for children and youth in many different ways.

Not only do we training for child-specific healthcare needs - but we also begin early educating children. Starting before preschool with personal and family safety and what to expect when you need an ambulance, to high school student about opportunities of entering the field of EMS.

Our EMTs and Paramedics are always seeking ways to share with our communities - ready to serve 24/7/365!

Tuesday's Clay Co. EMS' "Heroes Work Here"!

Not only do we work together, but we continue teambuilding during our training and downtime between calls.

Given the high stress environment that first responders respond to on a daily basis, there are a variety of activities in place to balance out the mental/physical loads we face.

Today our crews were recognized by some of our partners in healthcare - Clay Co. 911 Dispatch and AdventHealth Manchester with breakfast items for our crews to grab between calls.

We started out with a busy morning already with 7 responses between 8 a.m. and noon.
