7/14/26 at 1654 hrs, a High Risk Structure Fire was dispatched on Box 23-15, East Manchester Township, Johnson Controls, 100 JCI Way. The phone call reported a large compacting dumpster on fire, attached to the building. Deputy 23 responded immediately and noted a heavy column of black smoke from a mile out. On arrival, the Deputy found a compacting dumpster with heavy fire and multiple exposures. All employees were evacuated and accounted for. Engine 23-2 and Tower 89 crews initiated fire attack until the dumpster could be disconnected from the building and pulled away to be emptied. There was no extension of fire to the structure, but there was some smoke infiltration. One firefighter sustained a minor injury after falling from a ladder which required transportation to a hospital for evaluation. The cause of the fire is listed as accidental. Units worked on-scene for 2 hours. Engines 23-2, 23-1, and 22-2; Towers 89 and 99-1; and MICUs 97-31 and 2-3 responded.

Road Open

🚨 Traffic Alert – Manchester Township 🚨

N. George Street southbound is CLOSED at Church Road due to a motor vehicle accident. The roadway is expected to remain closed for an extended period of time.

⚠️ Please do not drive around traffic cones or barricades. Even if there appears to be an opening, it is NOT an authorized route through the closure. Emergency vehicles with their emergency lights activated are operating in the area, and driving around the closure places first responders, crash victims, and motorists at risk.

Parents, please take a moment to remind your young drivers to respect road closures and follow the directions of emergency personnel. These closures are in place for everyone's safety.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. 🚔🚒🚑

Earlier today, Station 23 had the opportunity to visit the Rolling Meadows Development and stop by T.J.'s Lemonade Stand, where he was raising money to support the Epilepsy Foundation and his own journey with epilepsy. 🍋💜

We are so grateful we could help make T.J.'s day the "Best Day Ever!" 🙌👨‍🚒👩‍🚒🚒💜💪🫶

If you would like to support T.J.'s fundraising efforts, donations can be made via Venmo: Emily-Zelinka-1.

Thank you to everyone who supports this incredible young man and helps raise awareness for epilepsy!

Prayers this evening as news has reached us regarding the passing of a great leader and friend. A servant of the residents of Hanover and York County. Rest Easy Commish, we’ve got the line…

It is with profound sadness that the Hanover Area Fire & Rescue Commission mourns the unexpected passing of Fire Commissioner James Roth this afternoon.

Commissioner Roth was a true icon of the fire service whose dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to this organization and the community he loved have left an immeasurable legacy. His impact will continue to be felt for generations of firefighters, EMS providers, and the citizens we are honored to serve.

During this incredibly difficult time, we respectfully ask that everyone afford the Roth family the privacy and space they need as they navigate this tremendous loss. Funeral arrangements and service details will be shared as they become available.
