The Manchester Mountain Bike Search and Rescue team (MBSAR) has been serving the community since 1996. The team is made up of volunteers who are experienced mountain bikers dedicated to helping others. MBSAR's mission is to search for lost, missing or injured persons in the woods or in more urban settings. With 25 members (mountain bike riders and communicators), the team is available 24/7/365 wit

h rapid search capabilities, basic first aid and expert trail knowledge as well as experience with street and urban searches. As a volunteer search team, MBSAR deploys as part of Manchester CERT and MBSAR functions within the National Incident Management System framework. To find out more about MBSAR, you may:

We’ve had some milder temps and most of the snow is gone. It’s a great opportunity to get out and ride, but don’t forget a few things. For example, the sun is still setting early, so make plans to finish up while it’s still bright out or bring lights. Wear reflective gear and make sure you bring your phone! Take a few minutes to prepare so that you’ll make it back safe and sound. Ride on.
