On November 25, 2014 my 3-year-old granddaughter died under suspicious circumstances while in her mother's custody. On December 5, 2014 her death was ruled a homicide. On January 2, 2015 her mother, Katlyn Marin, was arrested on a charge of Second Degree Murder. We, her extended family, are absolutely heartbroken that our little angel's life ended so abruptly, under such horrendous circumstances.
Our Mission:
We would like to raise funds for a memorial service to honor our beautiful angel. If we can raise enough money we would also like to have a tree planted and memorial bench with Brielle's name placed in our local children's park. Her Death was Preventable:
No family should ever have to suffer the pain we are feeling. We want to bring awareness to the issue of child abuse and how DHHS and the court system failed my granddaughter. She was returned to her mother last summer by family court -- while felony child abuse charges were still pending against her mother and the mother's boyfriend. I am going to propose legislation that will provide more protection for children who are currently in the system, and we need your support to accomplish this.
