Tulip poplar at Bush Hill. Thanks, Brad, for this photo. This tulip poplar tree is about 20 feet tall at this time. From Wikipedia: "The tulip tree is one of the largest of the native trees of eastern North America, known in an extraordinary case to reach the height of 192 ft. These heights are comparable to the very tallest known eastern white pines, another species often described as the tallest in eastern North America."

UPDATE - The event is now full...thank you all for signing up.

Join us for a short presentation and discussion on falconry, given by local general falconer and Vernon Police Dept Officer, Jim Plotash as well as master Falconer, David Stevens. The event will be held at an undisclosed location on Manchester Land Conservation Trust property in Manchester on Sunday, June 7th at 4pm. Please RSVP by sending a text message to 860 324 7487 to get the event location. Secure your space now as the audience will be limited to 40 people as to not stress the raptors.
