🎉 BIG NEWS FOR THE HUDDLE! 🎉
We are excited to share that Manchester Parks & Recreation and The Huddle Youth Center have been awarded the GRPA BOOST 2.0 Grant, with funding dedicated to support and expand programming at The Huddle Youth Center! This is a tremendous investment in our young people and will help us strengthen both our afterschool and summer programming with even more hands-on learning, enrichment, leadership, wellness, and connection.

Through BOOST 2.0, youth at The Huddle will have access to new and expanded opportunities including Culinary Arts, STEM and STEAM labs, Art & Expression, gardening and environmental science, life management and financial literacy, career exploration, leadership development, mentoring, tutoring, recreation, and youth-centered community projects.

Don't worry, the wonderful things that already make The Huddle such a special place for our youth will remain at the heart of everything we do — a safe and welcoming place to belong, trusted adults who care, friendships, mentoring, recreation, laughter, encouragement, freedom to be themselves, and a place where they know they matter.

New programming begins MONDAY 10/19! BOOST 2.0 = HUDDLE 2.0!

District 1 Residents: We Need Your Voice! 📢

Councilmember Warrior and I are hitting the pavement, this Saturday, going door-to-door to talk directly with our District 1 homeowners and renters.

We are preparing to apply for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) to bring vital neighborhood revitalization to our area—including improved infrastructure (water, sewer, and drainage) and home rehabilitation funding (roofs, windows, HVAC, plumbing, and more). To make this application successful and validate our eligibility, we need your input on what improvements you need most!

Target Streets:
We are starting on MLK (Martin Luther King Dr) first, followed by Oconee, Ted Anderson, Ruby St, Chalybeate St, and King St.
Our goal is 100% participation from our neighbors on these streets, so please keep an eye out for us this Saturday!

🗣️ Public Hearings Next Month
In addition to our door-to-door outreach, the City of Manchester is hosting two public hearings for the Martin Luther King Drive Target Area Phase I Neighborhood Revitalization CDBG Project:

In Person: Thursday, November 12, 2026 at 5:15 p.m. at the Manchester Community Building (105 2nd Ave)

Online (Google Meet): Tuesday, November 17, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Link: https://meet.google.com/syz-vrry-zax](https://meet.google.com/syz-vrry-zax

Community Needs Survey
If you can’t make the hearing or want to share your feedback right away, please complete the online Community Needs Survey at: https://forms.gle/11WgdYaPJozN6fjdA](https://forms.gle/11WgdYaPJozN6fjdA

(Please note: This online survey is separate from our door-to-door survey, but both are critical to helping us secure these grant funds for District 1!)

Together, let’s bring these investments home to our community! See you Saturday!

Manchester FD will be testing the weather siren at 4PM today, as we prepare for the incoming significant weather that is forecasted for this weekend.

Please start preparing your house by stocking up on supplies. Also, download some type of weather warning / news station, so you can stay up to date on the status of the storm.
