MCSC Meeting March 2024
Next date: Thursday, March 07, 2024 | 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM

PLEASE JOIN US: Thursday, March 7th, 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

LOCATION: Midwest Food Bank (440 Adams Street, Manchester)

FEATURED TOPIC: “Amplifying Voices in the Community and Beyond"

Last fall, MCSC's Legislative Breakfast had one of our largest meeting turnouts yet. Now we'll take a closer look at the strategies we can all use to make our voices heard with elected officials. Whether you work with a social-services organization or support community members who rely on them, you won't want to miss this informative presentation.

Our key presenter is Jeff Shaw, MA, MPH. He is Senior Public Policy Advisor at The CT Community Nonprofit Alliance, and has generously agreed to give us his firm's perspective now that the Conn. General Assembly is in session.

NETWORKING: Please join us at 8:45 a.m. for coffee/tea/refreshments.

FOR YOUR SAFETY: If you require parking close to the building, please arrive early and use the spaces next to Midwest's main entrance. You may park directly behind cars already parked there, for the duration of our meeting. In the event of snow cancellations, MCSC follows Manchester Public Schools' schedule.

One week from today, March 30th, mark your calendars. Our “Fighting Homelessness Together” Forum is right around the corner. In addition to our paneled guests, we will be joined by Manchester High School’s Global Studies Academy along with the Education and Public Service Academy. They will be assisting throughout the night and selling popcorn at the door to raise funds for MACC’s Hip Hop Haircuts for the Homeless event we do each spring in conjunction with 180 Barbershop. A special guest, Joey Battaglia, Manchester High School English Teacher, Leadership Advisor, and Hip Hop Haircuts Founder, will MC the night.
