Today, on Police Officer Memorial Day, we stop to remember the law enforcement officers across our nation who gave their lives in the line of duty. Their sacrifice, courage and commitment, for the protection of others will not be forgotten.
Behind every badge lost is a family, a department, and a community that has been changed forever. Today we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and we keep their loved ones in our thoughts and prayers today and every day.

This week, the Manderson Police Department joins communities across the nation in honoring the brave men and women of law enforcement who serve and protect every day. During National Police Week, we remember the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice and recognize the dedication, courage, and commitment of those continuing to serve our communities.

We are grateful for the support of the Manderson community and proud to stand beside the officers, dispatchers, first responders, and families who make this work possible.

Please take a moment this week to thank a law enforcement officer for their service and sacrifice.

Today, April 22nd, 2026 the County Fire Warden has issued a burn ban due to red flag conditions. This means no open burning anywhere in Big Horn County.

These messages may look official and often include urgent language or links demanding immediate payment. Do NOT click on any links or provide personal or financial information. This is a scam.

🚫 The Manderson Police Department and Municipal Court will never request payment or sensitive information through text messages.

If you receive one of these messages:
• Do not respond
• Do not click any links
• Delete the message

The Manderson Police Department is pleased to announce that Officer Joshua Wheeler has been promoted to Sergeant.

Sergeant Wheeler has been in law enforcement since 2013. He graduated from the North Delta, Louisiana, Law Enforcement Academy and from the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy. In 2025, he completed the Field Training Officer course at the Wyoming Academy.

During his career, he has served as detention deputy, patrol deputy, patrol officer, school resource officer, and field training officer.

He says the best part of being in law enforcement is helping people and building relationships in the community.
