NOTICE OF TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

Please be advised that M&J Civil will be installing a new water main across Montgomery Street between Foy Street and Jackson Avenue. This pipe installation is part of the larger ongoing Old Mandeville Waterlines Project. This work will necessitate a temporary full road closure from August 4, 2026 to August 7, 2026. All business and residential areas access points will remain open and accessible to local traffic only. Residents planning to visit the Mandeville Cemetery are asked to access the cemetery from the entrances on the Villere Street side during the construction period.

🚨 STAY SAFE, MANDEVILLE: E-Bike & E-Scooter Warning 🚨
We are seeing a rise in close calls around town, and our neighbors in NOLA have already tragically seen 4 fatalities this year.

A recent terrifying dashcam video posted to Facebook showed a kid fly through a stop sign from a pathway, nearly getting hit by a car.

Knowledge is power. Parents, please DO NOT assume your kids know the rules of the road! Review these laws with them today:

⚠️ The 4 Fatalities Statistic: Don't let your child become a statistic. E-bikes are fast and powerful—they are vehicles, not toys.

🛑 Obey All Traffic Signs: Riders must come to a complete stop at all stop signs and red lights. Drivers cannot see you if you blast through an intersection.

🚲 Keep Off Sidewalks & Pathways: Per the city ordinance passed last summer, E-bikes and E-scooters are strictly prohibited on sidewalks and walking paths.

đźš« Dirt Bikes Are Illegal: Gas or electric-powered dirt bikes are 100% illegal on all public streets and sidewalks statewide.

Please do your part to educate your kids and keep Mandeville safe!

Ok sharing another one here. Do we see the trend developing? Parents talk to your kids.

Ok sharing another one here. Do we see the trend developing? Parents talk to your kids.

St. Tammany Parish Government has received numerous reports of irresponsible e-bike riders harassing others along our Tammany Trace, including attempting to ram into pedestrians, causing bikers to crash or trying to run others off the trail into ditches and trees.

While our Trace Rangers routinely patrol our trail, we cannot stop this dangerous new trend without your help! We urgently ask all of our community's parents to supervise their children and teens to prevent any further harm to others along our 31-mile trail. By working together, we can continue to ensure our beloved Tammany Trace remains a safe, tranquil path for all people to enjoy!

To report an incident, please call the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office at 985-809-8200, or dial 911 in case of an emergency situation.

As a motorcycle rider, I live by a non-negotiable rule every single time I hit the road: ATGATT — All The Gear, All The Time.

Why? Because the hard truth is that drivers are scanning the roads for other cars. They often do not see motorcycles—and they definitely aren't looking for young riders on electric dirt bikes zipping through our city streets.

We are seeing an influx of kids riding actual, powerful electric dirt bikes all over Mandeville. Because these are quiet and fast, the safety risks are multiplying daily. Without a steel frame surrounding them, a young rider's only defense is protective gear and smart choices.

Know the Law in Louisiana:
Under RS 32:416.1 and RS 32:299, off-road vehicles like electric dirt bikes are not legal on public roads, streets, or highways, and they cannot be registered or insured for street use.

If your children ride these bikes, please have a serious talk with them today to ensure they stay off public roads and stay safe:

🪖 Gear Up: A properly fitted helmet is a must. Long pants, sturdy shoes, and gloves make a massive difference.

🚫 Stay Off Public Streets: These bikes belong strictly on private riding tracks or designated off-road areas—never on city streets or sidewalks.

đź‘€ Drive Defensively: Teach them to assume that cars cannot see them.

Let’s work together as a community to keep our streets safe and protect our kids before a preventable tragedy happens.
