Thank you to the Richland Parish Sheriff Office for all your help.

On April 4, 2026, at approximately 10:44 PM, deputies responded to a vehicle burglary on Elizabeth Street in Mangham after
the complainant contacted both the Richland Parish Sheriff's Office and the Mangham Police Department.

The complainant reported that someone had entered her vehicle and stolen personal belongings, including a purse. While on scene, deputies learned of additional vehicles in the area that had also been gone through.

Deputies immediately began patrolling and located three juvenile suspects nearby. All three were detained and transported to CID for questioning.

The investigation revealed the juveniles had been entering unlocked vehicles and taking property.

All three juveniles were charged with three counts of theft each and later released to their parents.

During the investigation, most of the stolen property was recovered, including the purse.

We want to remind everyone....lock your vehicles and remove valuables. These types of crimes are preventable and often occur when vehicles are left unsecured.

If you see suspicious activity, please contact the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office.

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my dear friend Wilbur Pridgett yesterday. Wilbur was a true friend to me and my family. To his family he was a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Wilbur loved his family fiercely and if you knew him you knew they were his world. I will always cherish the times Wilbur would come by the department just sit, talk and laugh for hours. Wilbur loved sports. He would help my department work the games always asking “what you want me to do?” Wilbur was my biggest supporter through it all. It is a honor to have been able to call you my friend. You get your rest now. You will truly be missed.

This evening we had some strong winds come through town. Once the weather calmed down, I rode around checking on the roads. There were some large limbs down on a few streets in town but not blocking roads.
I got a call that the memorial for Marshall Waters had some damage to one of the eagles. Upon getting to the memorial. We noticed that flag poles were damaged as well. All flags were laying on ground and poles broken. I respectfully picked up the flags and took them to the office.
