🚨📱 OH LOOK… ANOTHER “TRAFFIC CITATION” TEXT SCAM. 📱🚨
They’re back at it again, folks...
Several people have reported receiving text messages claiming to be from the “Oklahoma Civil Traffic Notice” or some mysterious “Civil Enforcement Department” threatening license suspension, warrants, court action, and demanding immediate payment.
Let’s break down all the reasons this thing screams 🚩SCAM🚩:
❌ There is no “Civil Enforcement Department of the Oklahoma District Court.” That’s simply not a real agency or official title in Oklahoma.
❌ “Oklahoma District Court Jurisdiction” That phrase doesn’t even make sense in the way they used it. Courts are organized by county and judicial district — not some statewide “traffic notice division.”
❌ Random fake officials “Judge David Thompson” and “Clerk Maria Gonzalez” are generic placeholder-style names scammers often use to make things sound official.
❌ Weird case numbering The citation and case numbers are inconsistent and formatted strangely compared to actual Oklahoma traffic case systems.
❌ Immediate threats and panic tactics Scammers LOVE phrases like:
⚠️ “Pay immediately”
⚠️ “License suspension”
⚠️ “Warrant issuance”
⚠️ “Collection agency referral”
The goal is to make you panic before you think.
❌ The website is fake-looking The link shown: “ok.govkuqe.autos/dmv”
…is NOT an Oklahoma government website.
Real Oklahoma government websites end in: ✔️ .gov ✔️ ok.gov
Not whatever alphabet soup this nonsense is.
❌ Courts do NOT notify people like this You are not going to receive an unofficial text message demanding payment for a citation with a random link attached.
Official court notices are generally handled through:
📬 Mail
👮 Personal service
📄 Official court paperwork
Not “PRESS AND HOLD THIS LINK NOW OR ELSE.” 🙄
❌ Spelling/grammar/layout issues Even scammers apparently skipped proofreading class.
And finally…
⚠️ DO NOT CLICK THE LINK.
⚠️ DO NOT ENTER PAYMENT INFORMATION.
⚠️ DO NOT GIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION.
If you receive one of these:
✔️ Delete it
✔️ Block the sender
✔️ Warn family members, especially elderly relatives
✔️ If unsure, contact the actual court or police department directly using verified phone numbers
The scammers are getting more creative… but thankfully not more intelligent. 😅
