Meet Nicole, who is running the 2026 NYC Marathon for Tuesday’s Promise
Nicole’s connection to Tuesday’s Promise is deeply personal. Her father, Anthony Mark Ventura, and grandmother, Felicia Hamilton, both worked in the World Trade Center and were killed on September 11, 2001.
As a teenager, Nicole attended Project Common Bond, where she met lifelong friends who had experienced similar losses. Those programs became an important part of her healing journey and showed her the power of community and connection.
Now, Nicole is running with Team Tuesday’s Promise to help raise awareness that the impact of September 11th did not end that day. She hopes to help ensure that other families can find the same sense of support and community that meant so much to her growing up.
Nicole is running in memory of her dad and grandmother, carrying their memories with her through every mile. Her greatest inspiration, however, is her mom, Lisa, whose resilience, courage, and unconditional love shaped the woman she is today. Watching her mother navigate unimaginable loss while raising two young children taught Nicole what it means to keep moving forward, even when life feels impossible.
As Nicole says, “I run for my dad and grandmother, for the community that helped shape me, and as a reminder that grief and joy can coexist.” For her, this marathon is about honoring the people she has lost, celebrating the community that helped shape her, and continuing to move forward while carrying their memories with her.
