Today we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, let us take a moment to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who gave everything for our nation. We are forever grateful to our fallen heroes and to the military families who carry their legacy forward.

Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of attending the Spring Art Show and Award ceremony at Herricks High School. The showcase featured an incredible collection of artwork created by our talented students, highlighting the creativity, passion, and hard work that make Herricks so special. Congratulations to all of the student artists whose work was on display!

It was also an honor to recognize two individuals who have made a lasting impact on the Herricks arts community. Congratulations to Anissa Arnold on her retirement after many years of dedicated service as Director of Music and Performing Arts in Herricks. Her leadership and commitment to the arts have inspired countless students throughout the years.

I was also proud to honor BOE member Henry Zanetti, who has been a steadfast supporter of the Herricks arts program for so many years. As he retires from the Board of Education, we thank him for his dedication and wish him all the best on his next adventure!

This evening I was delighted to attend the Herricks Association of Girl Scouts Recognition and Bridging Ceremony. Congratulations to all of the incredible Girl Scouts being recognized for their hard work, leadership, and dedication throughout the year. Watching these young women grow in confidence and achievement is truly inspiring.
A special thank you to Kristin Testani, Service Unit Volunteer Manager, for all that she does to support the troops, leaders, and families in our community. Your dedication and commitment help make these wonderful opportunities possible for so many girls.
