As a new school year begins, I want to wish all of our students, teachers, administrators, staff, and families across our community a very happy and successful year ahead!

The start of a new school year is always an exciting time filled with new opportunities, new friendships, and new goals. To our students, remember to approach each day with curiosity, confidence, and a willingness to learn. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow, and every accomplishment—big or small—is something to be proud of.

To our dedicated teachers and school staff, thank you for the important role you play in supporting and inspiring our young people. And to parents and families, thank you for your continued encouragement and support throughout the year.

I am proud to support our students and our schools and look forward to celebrating all that our young people accomplish this year. Wishing everyone a safe, successful, and wonderful school year!

It was wonderful to join our North Hempstead seniors at North Hempstead Beach Park for the final FunDay Monday of the season, featuring the HomeTown USA celebration!

We also came together for a special Salute to the Veterans and First Responders, honoring the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.

I am grateful to everyone at the Town of North Hempstead Department of Services for the Aging and High School Volunteers who worked throughout the summer to make these events possible.

Thank you to our veterans and active-duty service members for your courage, sacrifice, and service to our nation.

It was a pleasure to join our community in celebrating the grand opening of the new pickleball courts at Martin “Bunky” Reid Park! These new courts are an exciting addition to the park, giving residents of all ages another opportunity to stay active, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with friends, family, and neighbors.

We were proud to have Julia Reid, Bunky Reid’s mother join us for the pickleball ribbon cutting. As beloved coach and sports enthusiast, we are sure Bunky Reid would appreciate this new pickleball addition to the park bringing families and communities together.

Congratulations on the grand opening, and here’s to many great games ahead!

Being prepared before an emergency happens can make all the difference. I was proud to partner with the Lakeville Estates Civic Association to bring the NY Citizen Preparedness Training Program to our community.

This free training provided residents with valuable information and resources to prepare for natural and man-made disasters. Participants received one free backpack how to create a family emergency plan, build an emergency supply kit, respond appropriately during a disaster, and recover as quickly as possible.

Thank you to the Lakeville Estates Civic Association and everyone involved in making this important program available to our residents. Taking a few simple steps today can help our families and our community be better prepared for tomorrow.

Stay informed. Stay prepared. Stay safe.

It was an honor to join the Lakeville Estates Civic Association for its scholarship awards ceremony at Clinton G. Martin Park on Friday, July 17th, and celebrate four exceptional students from our community.

Congratulations to Karina Cheung, who will be attending Northeastern University; Aidan Cruz, who will be attending St. John’s University; Thomas Anschlowar, who will be attending Virginia Tech; and Sherwin Fernandes, who will be attending Cornell University! Each student received a $1,000 scholarship to support them as they begin their college journey.

I am so proud to celebrate these outstanding young people and wish Karina, Aidan, Thomas, and Sherwin continued success in all their future endeavors. Their hard work and dedication are truly inspiring, and I look forward to seeing all they accomplish.

Thank you to the Lakeville Estates Civic Association and its members for investing in the future of our community and for making this scholarship program possible. Your generosity has helped provide $41,000 in scholarships to deserving students over the past seven years.

Congratulations to all of this year’s scholarship recipients, and best wishes on this exciting new chapter!
