📣 Project Pulse: Conceptual Designs & Next Steps

After a year of community outreach, Project Pulse is planning to move into its next phase. The latest round of community input, including design workshops, have been conducted and preliminary conceptual designs were presented for community input during the City’s July open house for two City-owned downtown properties:

📍 400 Manhattan Beach Boulevard
📍 Parking Lot 3 (1155 Morningside Drive)

Now, City Council will consider the latest round of community feedback as well as preliminary conceptual designs, and discuss potential next steps.

Yesterday, the City of Manhattan Beach held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Catalina Classic Commemorative Statue, honoring the history and legacy of the Catalina Classic, the legendary 32-mile prone paddleboard race from Two Harbors to Manhattan Beach.

Dating back to 1955, the Catalina Classic has brought generations of paddlers across the open ocean to the finish line right here in Manhattan Beach. This new installation celebrates the athletes, families, supporters, and community members who have helped carry that tradition forward for more than 70 years.

Next time you’re by the Pier, stop by and check out this new tribute to an iconic piece of Manhattan Beach history! 🌊🏄
