What does an art exhibition look like at 80% complete? 🎨

Three days before opening, most of the paintings and sculptures were in place, but wall trim, finishing touches and a few carefully crafted details were still underway.

Cultural Arts Senior Recreation Leader Ceejay takes us behind the scenes to share the timeline and teamwork required to transform the Manhattan Beach Art Center, including the ornate frames created by our staff.

Now it’s your turn to see the finished exhibition! Enjoy art created by your neighbors, find inspiration for your next ceramics or painting class or simply stop by and cool off.

The Annual Community Exhibition is on view through October 5.

Where could 25¢ take you? 🚌

Suzanna recently celebrated an incredible milestone — 500 rides with Manhattan Beach Dial-A-Ride!

Dial-A-Ride provides shared, curb-to-curb transportation for Manhattan Beach residents ages 55+ and individuals with disabilities. And a one-way ride within Manhattan Beach costs just 25¢.

Whether you've seen Dial-A-Ride around town or you're hearing about it for the first time, Suzanna's 500 rides are a great reminder of how this City service can help residents stay active, independent, and connected to their community.

Where could your first ride take you?

An incredible honor for our Older Adults Program! 💚

The Friendship Foundation presented the program with its Community Impact Award, recognizing volunteers who make a positive difference in their communities.

Through Friendship Foundation Bingo events, our members volunteer their time, share plenty of laughs and build meaningful friendships with youth and adults with disabilities. This intergenerational partnership is a beautiful example of what can happen when people come together through connection and belonging.

Please join us in congratulating our Older Adults Program on its award! 👏

Led by Coach Niecia, swimmers participate in tailored workouts that focus on technique, stamina, and speed, all in a fun and supportive environment. Whether they are preparing to compete or simply enjoying time in the water with others, there is something for every goal.

One tiny camper review. Two live reaction locations. ⚽️🍦

When she said Beach Aqualetics was “good,” City Hall and Beach Aqualetics reacted like it was the winning goal.

And when she nodded yes to coming back tomorrow?

That’s when we knew we knocked it out of the park. 🎥 ✨Мечтательница
