Foot- meet mouth 🤦‍♂️

A cold front will advance into portions of central Illinois Wednesday kicking off scattered thunderstorms late in the afternoon and evening. Damaging wind gusts, large hail, and an isolated tornado will all be possible in some of the strongest storms.

Just when you thought you could breathe a sigh of relief and you got your damage fixed from the last round... Yet another round of potentially severe storms are headed our way. The problem with this system is it's scheduled to hit our area between 3p-8p tonight which is about the time most of you are coming home from work or picking your children up from after school activities. Please be weather aware and adjust your schedule accordingly. (Don't tell your boss we said it was ok to leave early 😁)

The Storm Prediction Center is UPGRADING Chicagoland’s risk for severe storms today/tonight. It’s now a “slight” or level 2 out of 5 threat level. I’ve got the latest forecast this morning on Fox 32 Chicago.

Greg was a mentor to most, if not all of our staff on EMA. We worked side by side on many details at all hours of the day and night. He was a wealth of knowledge and always wanted to help anyone he could. They don't make them like Greg much anymore. You will be missed Sir! Rest in Peace. We have the watch from here.

...And you thought we were done with the weather. This is the most active weather season we can remember.

Active weather conditions continue to linger across the Midwest through the week and into the weekend. This could bring additional strong to severe storms, and increased flooding potential, across northern Illinois and northwest Indiana.
