**REMINDER** - It's Baby Deer Season again. If you find a fawn alone on the ground, please just leave it there. Fawns will be increasingly dropping across Kansas over the next couple weeks.
- During the first 5-8 days, newborns bed down on the ground alone and stay still, even when a person or animal is near them.
- During the next 8-30 days, it will continue to bed on the ground alone and if startled, will quickly run to a new spot to bed on the ground or hide. They will also often make crying or bleating sounds when calling for their mother.
- Momma Doe is likely nearby grazing, so please DO NOT handle them and then call the Game Warden. If an officer shows up to pick up the deer you picked up, they will most likely just take it right back to the same spot and release it. This is their best chance of survival.
SO, please enjoy nature's beauty at a distance.

FOUND DOGS 🐾

These two dogs were found near Smith St and Brockman in Manhattan. The finder is currently safely holding onto them in their backyard while we attempt to locate the owner.

ACO Tracy and ACO Brodosi were dispatched to a call for a kitten in distress at the DoubleTree by Hilton. After a lot of patience and determination, they were able to safely get the kitten out to safety! 🖤🐾

The tiny girl has since been transported safely to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter - Manhattan KS where she will be placed on stray hold while we attempt to locate an owner.

Her name is now Mercedes… named after the kind of car she decided to hide out in this morning 😅🚗

Another update! She’s home 🤍

Update she’s impounded at Prairie Paws Animal Shelter - Manhattan KS

This sweet girl was found running in the roadway near Seth Child Rd / Tuttle Creek Blvd area causing a traffic hazard. Thankfully, she does not appear to be injured and is safe with us now.

She is NOT microchipped, and we would really like to try and get her back home to her family. If you recognize her or know where she belongs, please contact Animal Control/Prairie Paws.

(Sorry for the quick photo — our priority was getting her safely out of the road as fast as possible. We’ll update with better photos when we can.)

OWNERS PICKED UP!! 💜

These two pups were found near Riley County Public Works off Tuttle Creek Blvd. They were not wearing tags and no microchips were located. They are currently being transported to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter - Manhattan KS to be impounded.

If you recognize either of these dogs or know where they belong, please contact RCPD Animal Control or Prairie Paws Animal Shelter.

🚨 FOUND DOGS 🚨

These two sweet boys were found trying to get some cash out of the ATM at Commerce Bank off Claflin… unfortunately they forgot their ID at home 😅

We’re giving them a ride for now while we look for their owners.

If you recognize these boys, please contact us so we can get them back home! 🐾

If not reclaimed, they will eventually be impounded at Prairie Paws Animal Shelter.
