Today is the day! Bee a part of the buzz! Join us to celebrate nature’s unsung heroes that keep our world in bloom!

This exciting event is a collaboration with passionate partners dedicated to raising awareness about the vital pollinators in our ecosystem. Today is sure to be a day filled with fun, education, discovery, and appreciation for pollinators.

Participate in these fun activities with our educators:
🐝Pollinator Parkour – Hop from one safe pollinator habit to the next!
🦋Pollen Pursuit – Pollination is vital to the life cycle of all flowering plants. Pollinators are the ones who do the grunt work of moving pollen grains from flower to flower.
🐦Beautiful Pollinators – Enjoy brightening up our prairie while coloring pollinator coloring pages.

FEATURE FRIDAY

It's the first full day back to school for Manhattan-Ogden and we’re wishing all the teachers and students an amazing year!

On select days off school, avoid “I’m bored” with our engaging programs.

Bust out of the classroom for exclusive fieldtrips with our Kids’ Tallgrass Tours for ages 8 and older. These full-day excursions to exciting locations around Kansas are an opportunity to experience some of the best nature spots in the state.

🚣🏽Monday, November 25 – Baker Wetlands Discovery Center and Kaw River State Park

For younger students eager to follow their sense of wonder, Discovery in the Flint Hills is a half-day camp for students in kindergarten through 2nd grade. These afternoon sessions are filled with hands-on experiments and creative themed activities.

WHAT WE DO WEDNESDAY

Tallgrass Tales
Fridays at 11 am
No cost

Join our educators each week in the atrium for a story and activity time designed to connect the youngest residents of our community to the nature and culture of the Flint Hills.

Tallgrass Tales is open to all ages but is specifically geared towards those aged birth to 3. Registration is not required. This week we will read What's Up? by Mick Manning & Brita Granstrom and have a Stomp Rocket contest.

Regular admission rates apply to access the exhibits.

Join the flint Hills Discovery Center, Friends of Konza Prairie, and the K-State PMC (Park Management and Conservation) students in free guided hikes at Konza today! Last group leaves in about an hour!

Educating students about the Flint Hills is our passion and the best way to do that is with a visit to the Discovery Center for a field trip and education program.

With the Freedom's Frontier National Heritage Area, Inc. BUS ON US! program, schools can get help paying for the cost of transportation.

Reimbursement grant funds of up to $250 to cover travel expenses are available for field trips when the group visit includes certain education programs.
