We would also like to extend our thanks to Debbie Nuss for running in the 2013 for one of the 3 Manhattan City Council seats. Although she was not able to win a seat, she still received a respectable count of over 2300 votes. Had their been a fourth spot open, she would also be on the city council It is progressive candidates like her running that give the citizens of Manhattan more choice for their leadership, and ensures that extremist candidates who are not forward looking, and do not have the best interests at heart for our community and schools receive the bottom 3 out of 7 vote counts. Thanks again!

Tonight we would like to extend our congratulations to the winners of tonight's local elections. Usha Reddi, and Karen McCuloh will join the city commission of Manhattan and Aaron Estabrook will join the Manhattan-Ogden School district board. These three progressive candidates will serve our city and school well and will help keep moderation and forward thinking in our local government. Rich Jankovich, a current city commissioner who is more moderate received the 3rd largest amount of votes and will receive a 2 year term. These 3 winners ensured that none of the 3 extreme right wing candidates promoted by Wynn Butler and Our Manhattan won tonight. Thanks to Citizens for a Moderate Manhattan and the voters of Manhattan for showing Wynn Butler and Our Manhattan that we do not want their version of Manhattan.
