(6/11) POWER OUTAGE UPDATES 9:00 AM — Good morning, all. The shelter at Minneapolis High School is open throughout the day to those who need showers (please bring your own towel and soap), cooling, rest, and food. Transportation (including handicap-accessible transport) is available upon request by calling Miller Karns at 785-392-7096. 10 hot meals will be available at the shelter after 1:00 PM, and more hot meals will be sent out to Ada, Culver, and Tescott. Meal-drop locations will be pinned in the comments. Here are updates for the affected areas…
ADA — The portion of power lines in Ada/Ada area owned by Evergy is still being worked on. Evergy estimates power to Ada will likely be restored between late today and early morning tomorrow as of this morning.
CULVER — Power has been restored to Culver Proper early this morning. However, storm damage has caused individual residences to experience power outages within the town who may not have/will not receive power even if power to the town has been restored.
BENNINGTON & NILES — Power has been restored in Bennington/Niles area at approximately 3:00 AM this morning. They are still working on the main lines coming out of Salina, so some areas may not be all the way online yet.
TESCOTT — While a few areas of Tescott may have power, most do not. Evergy is still working on numerous poles in the area and estimates that power to Tescott will likely be restored between late this afternoon and late this evening.
DELPHOS — Outages are being reported in the town of Delphos. Evergy is aware and says this is a localized outage within the town of Delphos and not an issue with the main line. They also advised us that a ticket has been made and someone will be out working on it, but didn’t offer a specific timeline. We will continue to provide updates as they are given to us.
WELLS & STATE LAKE — Evergy reports that power has been restored to Wells and State Lake as of 8:58 AM. If you live or work at State Lake and are still without power, please leave a comment or call Miller Karns at 785-392-7096.
