Over the coming months, representatives from Verisk/ISO will be visiting commercial properties throughout the district as part of a nationwide review of our community’s fire protection capabilities. These informational visits help ensure building and fire protection records are accurate and contribute to the district’s Public Protection Classification (PPC) rating — a rating many insurance companies use when determining commercial property insurance premiums. Strong fire protection services and a favorable ISO rating can potentially help reduce insurance premiums for local businesses and property owners.

Please note: these are informational visits only and are not enforcement inspections conducted by the Fire District.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms in our community! Today we celebrate the women who love fiercely, support endlessly, and make a difference every single day — at home, at work, and everywhere in between.

We also hold close the memories of the moms who are no longer with us, and send love to anyone missing someone special today.

From all of us at the Manhattan Fire Protection District, we wish you a day filled with love, laughter, and appreciation. ❤️🚒

The combination of warm temperatures, dry conditions, and gusty west-northwesterly winds will lead to an increased threat of fire spread through early this evening across northern Illinois and portions of central Illinois. Limit activities that may cause sparks or involve open flames.
