Well, we knew this day would come. It’s time to start saying goodbye to pool season (cue dramatic music).

👉 City Park Waterpark’s last day is August 8, and we’re going out with a splash — Pet Poolooza takes over on August 9.
👉 CiCo Waterpark will hang in there one more day — closing after August 9.
👉 Northview Waterpark isn’t ready to fully break up with summer just yet — it’ll be open weekends starting August 10 through Labor Day.

We know it’s a bummer, but think of all the sunscreen, snow cones, and slightly soggy pool bags we’ve shared. Thanks for swimming, sliding, and sunning with us — we’ll see you next summer!

All Waterparks Closed: 7/23/2026

Due to cool temperatures and low attendance, all pools will be closed for the remainder of the day.

Night swim lessons and Junior Lifeguarding will continue as scheduled.

Deep Water Aerobics at City Pool is canceled for tonight.

Episode 2: The Ducks Arrive

Following the snapping turtle encounter, a group of ducks decided to take up residence at CiCo Waterpark.

We're not sure what's going on in MHK, but the Recreation team is here for it.

When we asked Sunset Zoo if we should open a contact corral, they were noticeably less enthusiastic than Recreation staff hoped they would be.

⭐️ Snapping Turtle Rating: 2/10, not interested in friendship.
⭐️ Ducks Rating: 10/10, would swim here again.

Recreation staff are already brainstorming mascot names.

Check back later this week to see what other wildlife decide to join the cast.

6/25/2026 WATERPARKS CLOSED 🌩️

Waterparks are closed, besties. Mother Nature clearly said “not today” with this light rain, off-and-on storms, and a soggy forecast for the rest of the day. Stay dry, skip the cannonballs, and we’ll see you when the weather decides to cooperate.

➡️ Evening swimming lessons at CiCo are still weather pending. We will post a update on them later today.

Eli, our Aquatics Supervisor, is already taking the Cardboard Boat Regatta way too seriously.

He showed up with a Viking ship and enough confidence to invade neighboring kiddie pools.

Due to lighting in the area we have some aquatic program cancellations this morning:

❌ All swim lessons have been cancelled for the rest of the morning

❌ The 10:50 AM River Running aquatics class at City Park Waterpark has been cancelled.

We will share additonal updates if the weather continues!

Swimming is an important life skill.

Our swim lesson program helps participants build confidence, improve technique, and spend more time safely enjoying the water this summer. Lessons are available for ages 3 and up, with classes offered in a structured Swim America format.

Well, it’s one of those days again.

It’s already raining, and with storms expected to roll in later, all waterparks are closed for today, June 4.

At this point, our lifeguards are less on pool duty and more on ark-building watch. If you spot them rounding up animals two-by-two, just know they’re staying proactive.

Stay safe, stay dry, and as always, blame the forecast… not us. We just work here.

Programs update:

👉 Private Swim Lessons at CiCo will be rescheduled for tomorrow at the same time and place.
👉 Adult Swim Lessons at City will be rescheduled for tomorrow at the same time and place.
👉 Deep Water Aerobics at City is canceled.
👉 Jr. Lifeguarding at Northview is canceled.

Storms, lightning, and cool temperatures are in our forecast today so all three waterparks will be CLOSED and the noon swim classes are CANCELED. We've already had notification of lightning in the area.
