The Kansas State University Police Department is a commissioned law enforcement agency that serves the Kansas State University Community. We are located at Edwards Hall which is located at the intersection of Denison Ave and Kerr adjacent to the Jardine student housing. Police: We have 21 full time law enforcement officers, including two detectives, bike officers, and officers dedicated to the stu

dent housing areas. Investigations: We have two full time detectives that serve the community. They investigate all crimes on campus. Their mission is to support the patrol division and conduct special investigations. These officers have specialized training in
• Interviewing
• Sexual Assault investigations
• Theft Investigation
• Person Crimes
• Computer Crimes
• Drug Investigations

Communications: Our communications center is a full functional 911 center staffed 24hrs a day 7 days a week. Our dispatchers both full time and student hold national certification. We are staffed with 6 full time and 4 students. Security: Our security staff are the men and women you see on campus in a tan uniform that serve the K-State community however do not have the arrest powers that the Police officers have. You will see them all over campus, and they provide our escorts for the Wildcat Walk Program. Student Security: We have a dedicated group of students who lock and unlock campus. They also provide escorts for the Wildcat Walk Program. Our students all go through a background check prior to being employed. Support Staff: We have a devoted staff of several employees that assist the community with getting police reports, facilitating hiring, maintaining our computer aided dispatching and mobile data terminals in our fleet of police vehicles. Our Jurisdiction:
• Property owned or operated by KSU
• KSU endowment associations
• Athletic associations
• Fraternities, Sororities (Riley County Police are primary responders at Greek Housing), and other student groups associated with the university
• Streets, property and highways immediately adjacent to the campus

We had a phenomenally fun time hanging out with so many of you at this year’s Pancake Feed! It was especially entertaining watching you play bags while wearing our Fatal Vision goggles. 😂 We hope the experience was not only fun, but educational as well!

Keep an eye out for the KSUPD golf cart (Unit .08) around campus this week. We’ll be out spreading the word about our Cats3D programming, SafeRide, and the K-State Safe app.

🎉 Congratulations to the K-State Police Department's newest Officers, Hujun Jin and Jesus Guillen Ramos, who graduated from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center on Friday as members of the 359th Basic Training Class! 👏🎓

💜 They will now begin their Field Training Program here on the K-State campus in Manhattan as they continue preparing to serve and protect the Wildcat community. 🚓💪

🐾 Hello, Wildcat Family!

Last week, Officer Joseph Peltz graduated from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center as a member of Class 358. In addition to successfully completing basic training, Officer Peltz earned the prestigious 200 Mile Award, which recognizes recruits who meet all physical fitness requirements and complete more than 200 miles of running outside of scheduled class time.

Officer Peltz has returned to campus and has already begun the Field Training Program, where he will continue developing the skills and experience necessary to serve the K-State community.

Be sure to welcome the newest member of the KSUPD team and say hello when you see him out on patrol!

🚓✨ This past Tuesday, we had the great honor of spending time with some future Wildcats at Wonder Workshop! 🐾💜

Our team had a blast teaching students about fingerprints 🖐️🔍, introducing them to our Drone Team program 🚁, and showing off the equipment we carry on our uniforms 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️ and in our patrol vehicles 🚔⚡️

The future is bright with these young Manhappeners! 🌟🐱💜

Urgent K-State Alert: Severe weather is expected this afternoon. Salina campus will begin limited operations with essential personnel only at 1 p.m. Manhattan campus will begin limited operations at 2 p.m.
All in-person intersession classes are canceled from 1 p.m. on for the Salina campus and from 2 p.m. for the Manhattan campus.
Employees should contact supervisors if they have questions.
