A couple weeks ago we had the best time at Pink Boots Brew Day at Map Brewing, helping brew Fempire Strikes Back. And today, we were back at it — this time helping with the canning! 🙌

This Hazy IPA is extra special to us … it’s made with 100% GVM malt 🌾🔥

Tonight’s the night! 🍻🏆

Join us at the Montana Beer Awards tonight at the Lewis & Clark Taproom in Helena! The party kicks off at 5 PM, with the awards ceremony starting shortly after.

Big day for craft malt — and for us! 🌾🏆

The 2026 Malt Cup Awards were announced today during a virtual ceremony hosted by the Craft Maltsters Guild, celebrating winners from across the globe.

Presenting the awards were Hannah Uhlmann, Director of the Barley, Malt & Brewing Lab at Montana State University and Malt Cup manager for the past eight years, alongside Aline Brito, Sensory & Food Scientist at Montana State University.

This year’s competition included:
🌎 117 total entries
🏭 29 malthouses
🌍 5 countries
🌾 7 grain types
🌱 48 varieties

And we are incredibly proud to share that we brought home two Bronze Medals during this year’s ceremony! 🥉🥉

• Bronze – Vienna Category for our Keughen Vienna
• Bronze – Unique Malt Category for our Frontier Malt

We are so proud of the hard work that goes into every batch of malt and feel truly honored to be recognized for the passion and precision we pour into what we do.

Heather, Lorna, and Sara — thank you for all you do day in and day out. These awards are a reflection of your dedication and teamwork. 🌾❤️

Merry Christmas from all of us at Gallatin Valley Malt 🎄🌾

As the year comes to a close, we’re feeling incredibly thankful. First and foremost, for our amazing team — Heather, Lorna, and Sara — whose hard work, passion, and dedication keep the malthouse running smoothly. You bring skill, heart, and a whole lot of personality to everything you do. And yes… we definitely like to have a little fun along the way.

We’re also so grateful for the incredible brewers we get to work with. Your creativity, collaboration, and trust inspire us every day, and it’s an honor to be part of your process from grain to glass.

This season, we’re reflecting on how blessed we are to do what we love, and work alongside such a incredible craft community.

A huge thank you to Shine Beer Sanctuary for hosting us for our Tap Takeover. We’re so grateful for the space, the hospitality, and the chance to gather with so many people we admire.

It was the absolute best evening showcasing the incredible brewers we get to work with and sampling some truly prize-winning beers. Nights like these remind us why we love what we do — crafting award-winning malt for the folks who turn it into something unforgettable. 🌾❤️

Kick off the evening with friends, farmers, brewers, and maltsters! Grab a beer, mingle, and enjoy the good vibes that come when our Montana craft community gathers together.

🍺 6:30–7:30 PM — Roundtable & Tasting Session
Join us for a roundtable discussion with maltsters, farmers, and brewers as we talk shop, swap stories, and showcase what makes Montana-grown ingredients so special.
Stick around for hot steeps and beer pairings featuring a variety of base malts — a true taste of the process from grain to glass.
