Manheim Borough has declared a Snow and Ice Emergency due to hazardous winter weather conditions effective 3pm, Saturday, January 24, 2026 until 12pm, Monday, January 26, 2026.

During the Emergency:
Parking is prohibited on all designated Snow Emergency Routes.

Vehicles parked on Snow Emergency Routes are subject to citation and towing at owner's expense.
Motorists must comply with all equipment and travel requirements under Borough Code Chapter 205.

Residents: Avoid unnecessary travel and remove vehicles from Snow Emergency Routes to assist plowing operations.

Updates: Visit www.manheimboro.org, WGAL, or follow official Borough/Police social media pages.

Winter Weather Advisory –

-A major winter storm is expected to impact our area, bringing heavy snowfall and hazardous conditions. The Manheim Borough Police Department urges all residents to take precautions now.

Please remember:
-Avoid unnecessary travel during the storm.
-If you must drive, slow down and allow extra stopping distance.
-Move vehicles off streets when possible to allow snow plows and emergency vehicles to operate.
-Keep emergency supplies on hand (food, water, medications, flashlights).
-Your cooperation helps keep everyone safe and allows first responders to do their jobs effectively.

-Reminder of the snow emergency routes and parking information for Manheim Borough are posted below.

-As for Rapho Township, during winter weather you will see trucks salting and plowing over 96 miles of roads. Rapho Township also has state and privately-owned roads that are maintained by others. If you’re not sure whether your road is a Township, State, or private, check out the Township website for a full list.

Preparing for Sunday’s Snow Storm – Important Reminders

A significant snowstorm is forecast for Sunday, January 25, 2026. The Borough is preparing crews and equipment now. A Snow Emergency has not yet been declared, but residents should review the information at manheimboro.org if conditions worsen. If a Snow Emergency is declared due to snowfall, icing, or hazardous road conditions, parking is prohibited on designated Snow Emergency Routes. This allows Public Works and emergency services to move safely and keep roads open.

Vehicles left on Snow Emergency Routes may be cited or towed at the owner’s expense.

View the Snow Emergency Route Map below. Routes shown in green include Market Square, High Street, and portions of East Gramby Street, West Ferdinand Street, Hazel Street, and other primary streets.

We will post updates on the Borough website and page if/when a declaration is issued. Notification will also be available on WGAL and FOX 43.
