The Midwest Central Raiders are headed to the regional semifinal after a dramatic 4-3 walkoff victory over Streator Woodland on Monday afternoon!
Trailing 3-1 entering the bottom of the seventh inning, the Raiders were down to their final outs before the offense came alive when it mattered most. Breckin Guy started the rally with a single, and Evan Schmidt followed with a clutch double to put runners on second and third with no outs.
After a strikeout, Zayne Hill came through in the biggest moment of the game, delivering a clutch RBI hit to tie the game at 3-3 and send the Raiders dugout into a frenzy.
But Midwest Central wasn’t finished.
With two outs and the winning run on base, Jaxon Tumilty stepped to the plate and delivered the game-winning hit, scoring Hill and sealing the Raiders’ incredible walkoff comeback to advance.
Tumilty led the way offensively, going 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI.
On the mound, Ryan Terrill shut the door for the Raiders, earning the win after tossing three scoreless innings, allowing no hits while striking out three.
