The Manito Revive & Thrive committee met all day with several citizens of Manito on Saturday March 22nd to start the creation of the overall strategic plan and goals for improving Manito. The mission of Revive & Thrive is to re-vitalize our Manito community by restoring the environment to prompt thriving social and economic growth. The group collaborated well and came up with several viable and actionable goals that fall under the categories of Business Development, Infrastructure and Tourism.

There will be one more all day session on April 12th from 9-4 at the American Legion Hall at 201 S Broadway St, Manito with lunch provided. During this session the group will review the strategy and plan from the March 22nd meeting and further define the details so it is actionable. This strategy and plan will also be used when applying for grants and funding options. There are still seats available for this session and we want your voices and feedback. You can register by emailing [email protected].

Extremely Cold Temperatures for the next few days!

Cold Weather Reminder from Manito Waterworks:
During the cold weather, please leave a
pencil lead size stream of water run to avoid pipes freezing. Not only can pipes freeze, also your meter pit could freeze-up causing problems. Leaving cabinet doors open to allow heat to reach under sinks is also beneficial. Please call the Waterworks office at 968-7080 or send an email to [email protected] to be added to the list for running water to avoid freeze-ups. If you have already placed your name on the list for the winter you are all set.
Thank you.
