If you are interested in serving your community, candidate information for both the Village of Manito and the Forman Park District is now available at Manito Village Hall.

🗳️ VILLAGE OF MANITO

Candidate packets for the upcoming Village of Manito election may be picked up beginning today at Village Hall.

Positions up for election:

* Three (3) Village Trustee – 4-Year Terms
* One (1) Village Trustee – 2-Year Term

A Village Trustee is an elected official who represents residents, helps make decisions for the Village, approves ordinances and policies, oversees Village finances and services, and works with other elected officials to plan for the community’s future.

📅 Petitions must be filed between November 16 and November 23, 2026.

Each candidate must file:

* Petitions containing the proper number of valid signatures
* Statement of Candidacy
* Loyalty Oath (optional)
* Receipt from the Statement of Economic Interests

Candidates are responsible for making sure all paperwork is complete and that the required number of valid signatures has been obtained. Candidates are allay responsible for verifying eligibility for the position they intend on running for.

🌳 FORMAN PARK DISTRICT

The next Forman Park District election will be held in Spring 2027.

Forman Park District Board members meet monthly and help set goals, establish policies, and determine services that meet the present and future needs of the citizens of the district.

Positions that will be up for election:

* One (1) 6-Year Position
* One (1) 4-Year Position
* One (1) 2-Year Position

If you are interested in running for a position on the Forman Park District Board, you should:

📍 Pick up a Statement of Economic Interests and candidate petition at Manito Village Hall, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.

✍️ Gather 25 signatures from eligible voters of the Forman Park District. Petition circulation may begin August 25, 2026.

📅 File your required documents between November 16 and November 23, 2026, at Manito Village Hall.

Candidates will need to file:

* Nominating Petition
* Statement of Candidacy
* Receipt for the filed Statement of Economic Interests

If you are considering serving on either the Village of Manito Board of Trustees or the Forman Park District Board, candidate paperwork is now available at Manito Village Hall.

Attention: Motorcycle Riders - Beware of loose rock!

Please use caution when traveling on Market Street, Harrison Street, and State Street in Manito. The streets have loose rock/gravel due to an oil & chip project. If possible, perhaps use an alternate route to avoid these streets. Thank you.

📢 **VILLAGE OF MANITO BOARD MEETING REMINDER**

Just a friendly reminder that the **September Village of Manito Board Meeting will be held Monday, September 14, 2026**.

Due to the Labor Day holiday falling on Monday, September 7, the September meeting was scheduled for the following Monday.

📅 **Monday, September 14, 2026**

All agenda items must be in by Wednesday September 9 - close of business. The meeting agenda will be posted prior to the meeting in accordance with required posting guidelines.
