There's a lot going on at the Manitou library in May!

Besides the monthly Undercover Book Club and Knit One, Manitou! we have three exciting programs.

Plantation Slave Weavers Remember with fiber artist/author Mary Madison, Sat., May 7th
11 am-noon at the Manitou Springs Heritage Center. Mary will present slides and oral histories from the Southern plantation textile workers.

Super Healthy Super Foods Sat., May 21st, 3-4 pm at the M.A.C. Learn the most power-packed foods on the planet. Food samples and recipes will be provided.

The History of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb on its 100th Anniversary 1916-2016
Sat., May 28th, 11 am at the Manitou Heritage Center.
Don Sanborn, race historian and Lisa Haight, author of Tall Tales From Pikes Peak will present historic photos/slides and talk about the history of the race, the cars, the course and behind-the-scenes stories of this world-famous local event.

Did you know that the Friends of the Library supports the programs at the Manitou Springs Library? Check out this upcoming Adult Program: Mary Madison- Plantation Slave Weavers Remember
Sat., May 7th.
Mary is a fiber artist and author. She will present a 1 hour program of oral histories collected from former slaves in the 1930's and slides of the slaves and their woven creations. Copies of her book will be available for those interested. Refreshments will be served
