Rainbow Falls

Once one of the major, natural sites visited by tourists in the early days of Manitou Springs, Rainbow Falls became an underappreciated and virtually unknown area for many years until members of the local community formed a group and worked to get the falls cleaned-up and restored. Although the rainbow on this image has been enhanced, this waterfall was known and named for the rainbow that formed in the mist at its base. This beautiful feature still exists, even with the highway development that surrounds it and is now El Paso County’s first Historic Park.
