Today marks eight years since we lost the three members of the Spirit 2 crew. These dedicated men had just finished a successful mission, safely delivering a patient to Madison, when their lives were tragically cut short just 12 miles from home base.
Rico, Klint, and Greg—the void you left behind is still felt deeply by your families, your friends, and the many coworkers who stood by your side. You were more than just a crew; you were a lifeline for the community you so faithfully served. Your sacrifice is remembered, and your legacy of service continues to inspire us all. May you all Rest in Peace.

Yesterday marked 16 years since we lost Vilas County Sheriff’s Deputy Kory Dahlvig in the line of duty. He was responding to assist his fellow officers when he made the ultimate sacrifice. Kory, you were one of the good ones. We will never forget your service. Rest in peace.

Last night our Fire Company had our annual dinner. We were served delicious food and drinks by the wonderful staff at Little Bohemia Lodge. We can't thank them enough for hosting us this year. Here are the only pictures i took, I will try to take more next year! We also had a few special guests that we were lucky to have join us.
Can't wait for next year!

Have you recently been thinking to yourself.... Self.... I really want to volunteer for my community but I am unsure how! What could I possibly do!?
Well today is your LUCKY DAY!
We are looking to get some people to take fire fighter classes right here at our very own MWFC! I know i know.... how convenient right?
Also, you are not too old, too young, or too busy. There is a job for everyone!
Something even more amazingly cool? They are at NO COST to YOU! How could you even say no to this incredible offer?
You also don't have to live in Manitowish Waters to take advantage of this deal.
All you need to do is reach out to your towns fire Chief OR message right here on MWFCs page.
If we can get a total of 8 people, we can host a class! If we can get 12 committed and through the class, Chief Bob Skrobot will do something crazy that is TBD after class is over.

RIP Marshall. Thank you for your years serving all the towns in the area. We couldn't of done it without you 💚🖤

Today, our community gathered to honor the life of Marshall Reckard, who passed away on August 20th at the age of 88.
Marshall was a dedicated public servant who gave countless hours to the Town of Presque Isle and surrounding communities. He served as Town Chairman of Presque Isle and spent many years as a First Responder and EMT, responding to emergencies in Presque Isle, Wi******er, Boulder Junction, and Manitowish Waters.
His commitment to helping others and his devotion to our town left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Following today’s memorial service, family, friends, and fellow first responders came together to celebrate his life and legacy.
We are grateful for Marshall’s service and extend our deepest condolences to his family. His dedication and kindness will never be forgotten.
