I received a call from a visitor that lost a pair of prescription sunglasses on Sunday evening, during a bicycle ride. The sunglasses are in a brown case and were likely dropped on the bike path between the Rest Lake Park area and Koller Park and the surrounding area. If found, kindly give us a call at

Just an FYI!

This month alone, our Water Patrol Team has responded to three visitor water-related accidents. Two of those incidents involved injuries that required a medical response. They also assisted three disabled vessels by towing them safely back to their docks or a nearby boat launch.

In addition, our Water Patrol crew rescued an intoxicated passenger who had fallen overboard without wearing a personal flotation device (PFD). The boat operator had not realized the passenger was missing.

Back in May:
While on patrol, our team spotted flames from a fire pit that had jumped the fire ring and spread to a large pine tree. The fire had already begun climbing the trunk when they arrived on shore. The property owner was attempting to contain the fire with a rake, but it was spreading too quickly.
Our team began assisting by filling buckets with water and thoroughly soaking the tree and surrounding grass until the fire was completely extinguished. The property owner was very thankful for their quick response and assistance.

A big THANK YOU to our Water Patrol Team for their professionalism and commitment to helping keep our lakes (and shores) a safer place for everyone this season!

Today is a beautiful day to attend the Manitowish Waters Lions Flea Market. When you are done outside, come into the Town Hall and browse the Frank B. Koller Memorial Library book sale! The Flea Market runs until 2pm today, the book sale runs until 3pm today and from 9am until noon tomorrow.
