Manitowoc County Emergency Management proudly recognizes National Police Week — a time to honor the service, sacrifice, and dedication of law enforcement officers across our nation.

We especially remember the brave officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their courage and commitment will never be forgotten.

ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE
COUNTY HIGHWAY “XX” AND LOUIS CORNERS ROAD
Manitowoc County will be reconstructing the intersection of CTH XX and Louis Corners Road. The project will include removal and replacement of the existing asphalt pavement, roadway grading, and installation of new curb and gutter and storm sewer improvements.
Construction activities are tentatively planned to begin the week of May 4th and are expected to continue through approximately the end of June, weather permitting. During construction, the road will be closed, and there will be NO ACCESS through the work zone, although access to businesses will be maintained. There will be a signed detour to the route as follows.
From the west: Proceed north on STH 67, then turn east onto CTH X. Continue to CTH A, and then travel south on CTH A until reaching CTH XX.
From the east:
Proceed north on CTH A to CTH X, then travel west on CTH X to STH 67. Continue south on STH 67 until reaching CTH XX.
School bus pickup and drop-off, as well as curbside garbage and recycling service, will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.

📢 Spring Drug Take Back Results – Thank You, Manitowoc County

We are grateful for the strong community participation in this year’s Spring Drug Take Back efforts, which was held on Saturday, April 25, at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital. A total of 352.8 lbs of medications were collected.

Thanks to the continued commitment of our residents and partnering agencies, we have safely collected and disposed of 1,124.5 pounds of unwanted, unused, and expired medications so far in 2026 — totaling 44 boxes.

Year‑to‑Date Drug Collection Totals
- Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office: 96.8 lbs / 6 boxes
- Manitowoc Police Department: 301 lbs / 10 boxes
- Two Rivers Police Department: 249.5 lbs / 10 boxes
- Kiel Police Department: 97.6 lbs / 3 boxes
- Mishicot Police Department: 26.8 lbs / 1 box

We’re proud to partner with Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc Police Department, Manitowoc County Recycling & Compost, and Healthiest Manitowoc County to help our community safely dispose of unwanted medications and keep them out of the wrong hands.
