Peter and attended public schools until 8th grade, then graduated from Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School. I went on to attend Bethany Lutheran College, earning my Associate of Arts degree, then completed my undergraduate degree at Minnesota State University-Mankato with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Parks & Leisure Services-Leisure Planning & Management. I am one of those who came to sc
hool in Mankato and never left. Thankfully, I have had the opportunity to live, work, and grow in Mankato my entire adult life. After spending many years working locally in various delivery, sales, and Recreation management, I have been the Director of Development at Bethany Lutheran College since 2007. I have enjoyed representing the institution publicly and forming relationships with benefactors. It has been a pleasure to serve on the Board of the Holiday Sharing Tree and participate in the local Leave A Legacy Chapter. Coaching youth sports has been particularly rewarding. I was given a terrific education by my parents and teachers who enabled me to excel in my own life, so why wouldn’t I want to get involved and make a positive impact on students and families in my own community? As someone who attended local schools, is employed in higher-education, and father of a 14-year old attending Mankato public schools, I personally understand just how important ensuring a quality, student-centered education is to the future of our youth and citizens of District 77. My wife, Pam, and I have a daughter who is an 8th grader at Prairie Winds MS this year and is active with music and sports. Between family time, projects at home, and Peppers softball we love to spend time with good friends and enjoy the special quality of life that the Greater Mankato Area has to offer.
