VINE is redefining aging and promoting the wellbeing of aging adults through programming, services, and community engagement. VINE's Live Well at Home Services includes transportation, meal delivery, volunteer visits, chores, support groups, caregiver coaching, mental health care and diversity programming. The VINE Adult Community Center is a one-stop shop for older adults to improve their physica

l health, socialize with their peers and exercise their brains. Our members can utilize our fitness center, warm water pool, indoor walking track, game room, exercise classes, educational presentations, social groups and bus trips.

Volunteer Spotlight πŸš— Owen

Since October 2022, Owen has been volunteering with VINE's Door2Door program, providing rides to neighbors throughout the region. After retiring, he was looking for a meaningful way to give back, and Door2Door was the perfect fit.

What keeps him volunteering? The people.

"I enjoy doing it. The people are very friendly," Owen says. He appreciates the flexibility and the connections he makes with riders, many of whom look forward to both the ride and the conversation. For some, it's an important source of social interaction.

Owen's advice for anyone considering volunteering: "It doesn't take much time to do something of great value for others."

A big thank you to Artist, Jessica Peters from Guileless Green and the Blue Earth County Library for leading a fun, hands-on workshop creating polymer clay tiles! We appreciate you sharing your creativity and talent with our community and to all of the budding and experienced artists, it was fun to learn together today.

🌿🎢What a way to kick things off! Today marked the inaugural concert on the VACC patio, and the VINE ukulele students made it one to remember.
After weeks of lessons with the talented Hanna Cesario, this group took the stage with a lineup of favorites, Edelweiss, You Are My Sunshine, Amazing Grace, This Land Is Your Land, and the ever-fun Flaming Ukulele in the Sky! It was a toe-tapping afternoon, complete with the audience singing along and plenty of smiles all around. Feeling inspired by the music? Keep your eyes peeled for the fall ukulele session, you might just find yourself performing at the next concert!

🌿🌞Beyond the music, it was the perfect reminder of what a gem the VACC patio space is. Members are welcome to enjoy it anytime the building is open and the weather is nice, so grab a friend and soak up some sunshine! On Fridays this summer, we’ll have outdoor games ready for a little extra fun, too.
