"Do you accept book donations?" is a common question at Bethany's Memorial Library, and the answer is always, "YES!" - especially today!

While not all donations are added to our collection, they still serve a vital role in our library; have you seen our Sales Carts? For just 50 cents to a dollar, you can purchase donated books and help support our programming events. This money funds treats for Book Club, Game Nights, etc. or special activities for Mid-terms and Finals weeks!

Celebrate the 15th annual "National Donate a Book Day" with us today by donating new or gently used books of any genre and be sure to check out our Sales Carts!

"I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! -- When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library."
-Jane Austen, "Pride and Prejudice"

"IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN! DO DO DO DOOO, DO DO DODODO!" The last round of Booketology 2026 starts today!

With a whopping 158 filled-out ballots (shout-out to our incoming freshmen and their parents who voted for their favorites at the Premiere Registration event yesterday), we are down to the Top Two contestants:

"Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen
VS.
"To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee

The previous round had some of the closest voting we've seen yet; "To Kill a Mockingbird" was neck-and-neck with "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak nearly the whole round, only pulling ahead at the end with the online votes.

Only one champion can remain at the end; which do you think will take the ultimate title? Make your favorite known by voting by Sunday, April 5th at the library or vote online here: https://forms.gle/6kDGJoNq9m6kca227

Booketology is back at the BLC Memorial Library! This year, the Battle of the Books is focusing on some of the books that have inspired movies and television!

The Select 16 of round one include match-ups of two books very recently adapted to film:
"Frankenstein, or, The Modern Prometheus" by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, recently adapted into the Netflix film directed by Guillermo Del Toro
vs.
"Wuthering Heights" by Emily Brontë, whose film adaptation, directed by Emerald Fennell, is now in theaters!

We expect the competition to be fierce as the Select 16 are whittled down to the Elite Eight by YOUR VOTES! Vote either online or in person at the library. Google Form link here: https://forms.gle/TGjqU7JVUW43q9c69

If you aren't familiar with some of the titles, ask at the front circulation desk! Copies of the books, most of the DVD's, and DVD players can all be checked out!

There can only be one ultimate champion! Which book do you think will win?
