Kato Public Charter School Small class sizes ~ customized, self-paced learning ~ grades 6-12
It's where you want to be! Kato Public Charter School serves students in grades 6 through 12.

Class sizes are capped at 17 students. It is a public school, so there is no tuition. Students meet Minnnesota graduation requirements through a combination of exploratory and structured classes. We offer a variety of field trips and hands-on learning opportunities. Community involvement is highly encouraged and students are encouraged to volunteer in the community. The school was established in 2000 as RiverBend Academy and it was renamed in 2014.

Provide Social Studies instruction to students in grades 9th-12th
US History, World History, Economics, Government/Civics, & Geography
Collaborate with Middle School 6th, 7th & 8th grade Social Studies instructors
Monitor progress and communicate with students and parents
Develop structured projects in collaboration with the English teacher
Plan and execute engaging experiential hands-on activities
Actively engage in PLC, Child Find Study, and Professional Development
Bachelor’s degree and valid English/Language Arts teaching license in Minnesota
Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, and work ethic
Desire to mentor, inspire and promote continuous growth in all students
Flexibility to work in a non-traditional educational setting and a changing environment
Ability to work independently, as well as participating in and leading teamwork
Motivated and enterprising personality
Comfortable using technology and familiar with Google Apps for Education
Fluent in English
