Busters Bar and Grill in partnership with SNAPS (Special Needs and Public Service) hosts Mankato’s Fourth Annual “Bend of the River CookOut”! We are pleased to welcome top chefs from Kansas City Barbecue Society to our event this year as well as many returning amateurs from the area. This event is a focus on our community, residents from the Greater Mankato Area taking care of and funding improvem
ents to the Greater Mankato area parks. All proceeds from this event go to providing ADA equipment and upgrades to the parks that allow those individuals with special needs the ability not only to visit the parks but to also partake in activities in the park. 2012’s CookOut raised $17,000.00 and with that we were able to build Wing Over White Oaks Park.This year’s event we want to do more and continue the work enhancing our parks. This year’s goal is the purchase of wheel chair swings for our parks, this will allow individuals that are confined to wheel chairs the simple pleasure of swinging. Imagine seeing the face of a child that has never been on a swing or had the opportunity to float without having to be assisted.Please make plans to join us for this event; this is an open event where the community can participate in many different ways. Spend the day with us along the banks of the river there will be many things to see and do; take a walk through the teams cooking area, see and smell the food as it is cooking and most importantly tasting the many great barbecue foods.
