🚑 Learn Life-Saving Skills with the Manlius Fire Department! 🚑

Join us on Friday, June 13th for two hands-on community training opportunities designed to give you the confidence and skills to help when it matters most.

❤️ BLS CPR Class – 8:00 AM
Learn CPR, AED use, rescue breathing, choking relief, and how to respond to opioid-associated emergencies.

🩹 First Aid Class – 10:00 AM
Learn how to recognize and care for common medical emergencies, including bleeding control, burns, allergic reactions, heart attack, stroke, seizures, diabetic emergencies, injuries, and more.

📍 Location: Manlius Fire Department

⏱️ Classes are approximately 2 hours each
💲 Cost: $20 per class
🏅 HSI Certification Included

Accident Alert

Manlius Police units along with the Fire Department are currently on an accident on Cazenovia Road at Pewter Road. Please avoid this area until the roadway can be cleared up.

Sunny day training on pump operations utilizing our tanker to draft from a portable pond. Drafting allows firefighters to utilize available water sources in areas that do not have hydrants.

On Monday, May 25th, Memorial Day parades and ceremonies will be taking place in the Villages of Fayetteville, Minoa, and Manlius.

Memorial Day is a time for our community to come together in remembrance of the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. ⛔Residents and motorists should expect increased traffic, temporary road closures, and delays in and around parade routes during the morning hours.

The Manlius Fire Department extends the happiest of congratulations to our bunk-in, Kaden Brown!

Kaden graduated today from Onondaga Community College and received his Associate’s Degree in Fire Protection Technology.

Kaden also received the esteemed honor of being selected by his program peers for the Brotherhood and Sisterhood Award.

We are so very proud of Kaden, grateful for his considerable contributions in helping staff the Manlius Fire Department as a Firefighter/EMT, and his professional, kind, and cheerful persona.

This week, Manlius and Fayetteville Fire Fighters dedicated over 30 hours to a Rope Rescue-Operations Level class, sharpening critical skills and reinforcing teamwork.

A huge thank you to the Manlius Fire Department Municipal Training Officer, Lt. Mathew Sherman, Manlius Fire Department Chief Jansen Casscles, and the Village of Manlius, for their support in making this valuable training opportunity possible and to the career staff members who covered all the day shifts for everyone else to participate in this training, Firefighters Christopher Dooher, Christopher Doster, Daniel O’Conner, Zachary Whalen.

We would also like to thank the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control- Technical Rescue Division for providing excellent instruction and leading this training.

Continuous training like this ensures we stay ready to serve our communities safely and effectively.

The Manlius Fire Department is proud to host the Rope Rescue Operations course from the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control. This particular training teaches the skills sets needed to effectively conduct rescues from high angle type situations.

Members from Fayetteville and those from Manlius who are not already trained to this level of response are participating.
