Manning Elementary School is excited to host our BOOK PARADE on Friday, October 30, 2026! 🦁📖✨
Students are invited to dress up as their favorite book character and join us as we celebrate the joy of reading! 📚👑🧙🏾‍♀️🦸🏽‍♂️🐉

🎉 Book Parade begins at 9:00 AM!
🍬 We are also collecting individually wrapped candy donations to help make our celebration extra sweet!

MES is proud to celebrate Vanessa Henderson, Terri Harrelson, and Nathaniel Rondina as recipients of Teacher Grants from the Bravo Education Foundation of Clarendon County! 🎉📚

These grants provide our educators with opportunities to enhance instruction, spark creativity, and create meaningful learning experiences for their students. We are excited to celebrate their dedication and the impact they continue to make in the classroom! 💛🖤🦁

Our grant recipients are pictured with Principal Felisha Moore, Assistant Principal Bridgit Wells, Maureen Calvo, Founder and President of the Bravo Education Foundation, Claire Gibbons of Power Education, and Mr. George Lesesne.

Our students have been busy exploring, creating, coding, and problem-solving with Legos and Ozobots! Through hands-on STEM activities, students are using their creativity and critical-thinking skills to bring learning to life. From designing and building with Legos to exploring coding and technology with Ozobots, our students are learning that there is no limit to what they can imagine, create, and discover! 🚀✨

🌱🔬 Science in Action in Mrs. Harrelson's and Mrs. Russell's Class! 🔬🌱

Our students are putting their scientist hats on as they explore the essential question: “What do plants need to survive?” 🌿☀️💧 Over the next 2–3 weeks, students will make observations, record changes, and monitor the growth of their plants as they discover what plants need to thrive. Students also participated in a fun “Penny Lab” 🪙, where they explored the Scientific Method by making observations, asking questions, forming hypotheses, conducting an investigation, and analyzing their results.

We love seeing our students learning by doing, asking questions, and thinking like scientists! 🧪👩🏽‍🔬👨🏽‍🔬
