After 24th August 2026, special called meeting of County Council, several members of the public requested additional information on the proposed ordinance that places a moratorium, or temporary stop, on data center construction in the County. Council member Coker did a great job of explaining why data centers need to be stopped. He stated that Council is stopping these projects to allow the Planning Commission enough time to formulate new zoning regulations that would protect our County. A draft of the ordinance being considered is included with this post.
