๐ A New Chapter Is Taking Shape in Turbeville! ๐๏ธ
The Dr. Kate E. Smith Library is coming to Turbeville, and as construction continues, weโre excited to share photos, updates, and information about what you can expect as we get closer to opening day!
The Dr. Kate E. Smith Library will become part of the Clarendon County Library System, joining the Harvin Clarendon County Library and the mobile library in serving residents throughout Clarendon County.
Here are a few things to know:
๐ Your current library card will work! There is no need to get a new library card when the Dr. Kate E. Smith Library opens. Your current Harvin Clarendon County Library card will work at the new location.
๐ The mobile library will continue serving the Turbeville areaโbut with a new focus. Once the new library is open, the mobile library will no longer stop at the IGA. Instead, it will focus on visiting communities surrounding Turbeville, including areas such as New Zion and Barrineau.
๐ช What about the Puddin' Swamp Festival? The new library is currently being built on the square where the festival has traditionally taken place. Whether or not the festival continues to be held in that space will be up to the Puddin' Swamp Festival Committee, and the Library looks forward to collaborating with the Committee.
๐
When will the library open? While construction is still underway, the Dr. Kate E. Smith Library is not expected to open until late spring or early summer. We still have some time to go, but we can't wait to welcome everyone when the doors finally open!
This is an exciting new chapter for Turbeville and Clarendon County. As the building continues to take shape, we'll be sharing construction photos, updates, and more information about the services, programs, and resources you can expect at the Dr. Kate E. Smith Library.
Stay tuned and follow along as we watch the Dr. Kate E. Smith Library come to life! ๐โจ๐๏ธ
