SATURATION SATURDAY – DWI ENFORCEMENT INITIATIVE RESULTS IN FIVE DWI ARRESTS IN THREE HOURS

Manor, TX – On August 29, 2026, the Manor Police Department participated in “Saturation Saturday,” a regional DWI enforcement initiative in partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). The initiative brings law enforcement agencies together to increase impaired driving enforcement and encourage responsible driving.

During a three-hour period overnight, Manor PD officers arrested five drivers for DWI-related offenses. The drivers ranged in age from 18 to 41 years old.

Three drivers were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Class B Misdemeanor).

Two additional drivers were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC ≥ 0.15 (Class A Misdemeanor) after providing breath specimens of 0.161 and 0.237.

These five arrests in just three hours serve as a reminder that impaired driving remains a serious threat on our roadways. Manor PD will continue proactive DWI enforcement efforts to identify impaired drivers and help keep our community and roadways safe.

Drive sober. Plan ahead. Get home safely.

For Immediate Release:

Manor, TX - On August 29th, 2026 at approximately 2:58pm, officers with Manor Police Department, as well as ATCEMS and TCESD-12 responded to E US 290 HWY WB at Old Kimbro Rd in reference to a two vehicle collision.

Numerous callers advised of a collision involving an 18-wheeler and a sedan. Additional callers advised there were injured occupants and possibly fatalities. Officers and responders arrived on scene and began evaluating all involved occupants.

Tragically, two adult occupants of the sedan, a male and female, were pronounced deceased on scene. A pediatric male patient in the sedan was transported to an area hospital by STAR Flight with significant injuries.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured and remained on scene to cooperate with the investigation. A preliminary investigation indicates the 18-wheeler was traveling westbound on US 290 and ran a red light, striking the passenger side of the blue sedan, which was turning northbound onto Old Kimbro Rd from E US 290 HWY EB.

Identification of the occupants are not being released at this time.

Manor PD extends its condolences to the family and friends of those who passed away in this tragic incident. We also would like to thank our partners with TCESD-12, ATCEMS, AFD, TCSO, and DPS for their assistance.

Through TxDot’s Impaired Driving Mobilization grant, you will see an increase in officers on the streets between August 14th and September 7th. The purpose of this mobilization is to increase DWI arrests and reduce the number of DWI related crashes during peak holiday traffic periods.

Over Labor Day Weekend in 2025, 57% of Texas crash fatalities were drug or alcohol related, with 26 people killed in less than four days.

Plan ahead, find a sober ride, and never drive impaired.
