I will always stand in the gap for my constituents.

In 2021, we were the FIRST community in Texas to defeat a concrete batch plant permit at TCEQ. We brought that same fight to a second concrete batch permit and the applicant ultimately withdrew their application. Two proposed wastewater treatment plants now have our full attention.

I will do everything in my ability to stop the proposed Heritage Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. This pattern makes clear what my constituents already know: Texans need meaningful TCEQ permitting reform.

About 150 residents, state Rep. David Cook met with commission to discuss a Burleson wastewater treatment plant’s impact on water, land.

Last night, I joined many concerned residents at a TCEQ Public Meeting to oppose the proposed permit for Heritage Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Residents have raised serious concerns about this permit application’s potential to severely impact our community’s health and wellbeing. TCEQ should heed their warnings.

Thank you to everyone from the STOP Heritage Creek Waste Water Treatment Plant community group (a FB group of 300 plus members) who showed up to make your voice heard and a special Thank You to Michelle Quant Johnson for leading this effort. I will do everything in my ability to ensure that TCEQ does not approve the permit.
