Recreation Center & Library Public Meeting

Want to help shape the world-class facilities of Mansfield's future? Join us at 6:30 p.m. next Wednesday, July 7, for a public meeting at the MAC to discuss a new recreation center and library. Hear from the experts and our staff, ask your questions and participate in interactive exercises that will influence what features and amenities are added to the final concepts. We're also hosting a special focus group session just for kids ages 10-17 on Thursday, July 8. Don't forget to take the online survey and share with friends and family...we can't create a space that our community really wants and needs without your help!

We want to wish a job well done to our Mansfield PD. Regardless of the time of day or night, our team is out patrolling to keep our community safe.

Great job!!! We have some major, breaking news for our community. Mansfield’s Finest tracked and located the suspect wanted in last night’s Amber Alert out of Brownsville, Texas. Officers located the suspect’s vehicle on W Debbie Lane in Mansfield. Multiple officers approached the car and removed the 18-year old male suspect from the driver’s seat. The 13-year old female teen was rescued safely by officers and being reunited with her family.

A huge shout out to Sergeant Raines, Officer Hernandez, Officer Koenig, and Officer Killian for the diligent police work, using their investigative skills to locate the bad guy and rescue this child.

This teamwork reinforces the need for all community members to be on the lookout when alerts are publicized, even when they are far away from our hometown.

Fun fact: one of the most common sources of mosquito breeding occurs in standing water found in old or used tires. To prevent breeding, check any old tires in your yard and dump the water out regularly. Or better yet, bring those old or used tires to the next Household Hazardous Waste drop-off event at the Environmental Collection Center. The next drop-off events are scheduled for July 8, 9 and 10. Get all the details about Household Hazardous drop-off here: https://www.mansfieldtexas.gov/201/Collection-Center
